Next-generation pharmaceutical warehouses with Mobile Racking Systems from STAMH Group

STAMH DESIGNS AND IMPLEMENTS NEW WAREHOUSING EQUIPMENT IN THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER OF ALTA PHARMACEUTICALS

Maintaining a diverse inventory and the ability to distribute quickly and efficiently are crucial for any logistics enterprise handling the logistics of medicines, dietary supplements, and beauty products. Mobile Racking Systems are extremely suitable as they allow the storage of a wider and more diverse inventory within the same warehouse volume;

This is because, the Pallet Racking Systems are installed on mobile bases that slide on rails, embedded in the floor. When no working aisle is opened, the racks stand closely together, ensuring high storage density. Thus, the useful pallet storage volume can be practically doubled;

The combination of Mobile Racking Systems with Conventional Pallet Racks provides additional space optimization in areas where installing mobile racks is not advisable.

THE NEW WAREHOUSING EQUIPMENT FROM STAMH GROUP STRENGTHENS ALTA PHARMACEUTICALS' POSITION IN THE SECTOR

Alta Pharmaceuticals is an enterprise with sustainable development in the pharmaceutical sector. The company has significant knowledge and experience in wholesale and retail of medical products and supplies pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements, and cosmetic products;

The logistics center of Alta Pharmaceutical was equipped by STAMH Group in the first half of 2024. The distribution hub is located near Sofia to ensure fast, well-organized, and accurate deliveries to all its partners in the western part of Bulgaria. The new Racking Systems were designed to ensure maximum pallet storage capacity, combined with smarter warehouse zoning and optimal organization of intralogistics processes. This further helped Alta Pharmaceutical to consolidate their positions of one of the leading distributors of medicines in the wholesale and retail market in Bulgaria. The new high-bay racking equipment was distributed in different blocks with 5 and 6 levels of pallet stacking with different weight, volume, and parameters.

WHY SHOULD WE CONTACT A WAREHOUSE SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR AT THE BEGINNING OF NEW LOGISTICS INITIATIVES?

Part of the systems implemented by STAMH Group in the new facility of Alta Pharmaceutical are Mobile Racks, and another part - Conventional Storage Systems for pallets. The combination of these two solutions allows optimal use of the volume, combined with effective organization of the receiving, storing, and dispatching processes, according to specific orders to the warehouse;

STAMH specialists recommend to start the design and the implementation of the Racking Systems together with the start of the planning of the new logistics hub, because the chosen warehouse equipment or Automated Storage Systems, ensures the main functionalities and performance possibilities of the distribution center;

The floor and foundations, for example, are of serious importance when implementing Mobile Racking Systems, precisely because the mobile bases move on rails, embedded in the floor. The engineering, completed and approved at the beginning of 2024, had to comply with various factors affecting the organization of the useful warehouse space - roof structure, passage doors, loading ramps, receiving and dispatching areas, and air ducts - part of the ventilation system;

To ensure operationally effective processes, the modern warehouse is increasingly far from a storage facility that simply stores goods. Today, distribution centers are often equipped with wrapping machines, separate zones for repackaging and assembling orders, and even robotic palletizing and depalletizing systems;

In particular, pharmaceutical warehouses often need to have special cold storage chambers and zones with special storage conditions, and restricted access levels to certain pharmaceutical products.

NEXT-GENERATION MOBILE WAREHOUSE SYSTEMS

Of course, the new warehouse systems designed and implemented by STAMH Group meet extremely high standards for safety and warehouse operations;

Special passage corridors are engineered to provide access to the lifting equipment. Light and sound barriers, as well as special safety signals increase the security in the warehouse. Special protectors and barriers at the base of the racks protect the new structure from damage during work with lifting equipment;

Each mobile base is equipped with a separate control panel with an EMERGENCY STOP button and status light indication. Besides mechanical operation, the mobile bases can also be controlled via software, directly from an HMI, and even remotely—without having to get off the lifting equipment. This further optimizes, and speeds up processes in the warehouse of each separate intralogistic operation.
