STAMH Group equips Sopharma Trading's warehouse in Serbia

Client: Sopharma Trading is a driving force in the healthcare sector, expanding its business in Central and Southeastern Europe;

Industry and specifics: The company boasts an impressive logistical capacity, operating from a 8,500 sq. m. logistics hub to ensure a consistently well-organized logistic coverage;

Project Location: Thanks to its extensive fleet, Sopharma Trading conducts business in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Zrenjanin, Sabac, Kragujevac, Krusevac, Cacak, Novi Pazar, Nis, and Leskovac. The company maintains the highest standards for the storage and transportation of pharmaceutical products. Sopharma Trading can determine the exact delivery moment, maintain constant temperature control, provide delivery verification documents, dynamically change the routes if needed, and provide real-time GPS tracking;

Sopharma Trading's operational fields are:

  • pharmacies;
  • wholesale deliveries;
  • medical equipment;
  • an exclusive portfolio of pharmaceutical products;

Implementation Period: STAMH Group's engineering teams, specialized in designing and implementing complex warehouse systems and warehouse automation solutions, designed the new warehouse equipment in September 2023. Before the end of the same year, the new Carton Flow gravity system, combined with a Conventional heavy-duty racking solution, was implemented in the new pharmaceutical warehouse in Serbia;

Challenge: Sopharma Trading's requirements for fast processing of each order are exceptionally high. The new racking systems needed to efficiently organize before expedition both palletized and non-palletized goods that are ready to become part of the next request to the distribution center;

Each SKU that could be part of one of the impressive 11,000,000 order lines annually had to be accessible to every operator in the warehouse. Sopharma Trading's product portfolio contains over 15,000 different items, achieving over 400,000 successful, precise, and timely deliveries annually, with each new route starting in the distribution center;

Solution: STAMH Group's Carton Flow systems are highly recommended for pharmaceutical products. The company's engineering teams adapt these gravity racks to the specific needs and requirements of each logistics center. Carton Flow racks use to be installed in the warehouse's high-activity zones, allowing faster picking from the front part of the rack. The Racking System is loaded from the other - backside. These processes can be handled simultaneously, without interrupting the working process;

Different SKUs descend slowly on specially designed roller paths with a specific incline, solely through the force of gravity. Each item has a precise position, and each operator has a specifically designated working area. The warehouse volume, in its highest parts - inaccessible for manual handling - was optimized with special Conventional Pallet Storage Systems;

Achievement: The new Carton Flow system is designed to provide convenient, fast, and ergonomic processing of each new request to the distribution center. In the second stage of the engineering and installation working processes, Conveyor Systems, will further facilitate and accelerate the assembly of each order, regardless of the number of items it may contain;

In the newly equipped area, Sopharma Trading can now effectively buffer 528 new pallets and process more than 9,800 different items and SKUs. Each warehouse operator has a specifically designed working zone, and specific products to work with, eliminating the need to cover long distances in search and transportation of items:
