Location of the project: One of the main warehouses of REMIX GLOBAL is located near Sofia. It’s next to Trakia highway, ensuring fast and accurate deliveries in different countries;
The new Racking System, provided by STAMH Group, allows the additional development of REMIX business, quick and dynamic picking and order assembly processes, and rapid expedition to numerous countries. Fast and accurate delivery is essential for every contemporary eCommerce business;
Implementation period: In 2021, STAMH Group, in close cooperation with specialists from Global Management Group Ltd., engineered an impressive multilevel Storage System for over 260,000 non-palletized units, weighing up to 10 kg – each.
The racking construction was designed to ensure every warehouse operator has quick access to every storage location, quadrupling the useful area, and creating additional vertical levels with a Mezzanine structure.
After REMIX was convinced of the effectiveness of this impressive combination of Conventional Racking Systems, Mezzanine Systems, and Gangway Racking Systems at each level, the company decided to continue expanding its useful storage area with Global Management Group, and STAMH;
Challange: The first part of the racking equipment was designed and approved in 2021. Blocks 1,2 and 4, for a total of 170,160 unique storage locations, and all the components of the structure were engineered, delivered, and installed on time.
Blocks 3 and 5, for the additional 95,472 SKUs. – were engineered, delivered, and constructed at the end of 2022. This way, the project managers of STAMH Group took into consideration the natural development of REMIX GLOBAL’s business, as well as the growing fulfillment needs of the client, led by the green wave, the development of the secondhand market and the outlet fashion trends;
Solution, implemented by STAMH Group: The system is truly different because it combines in a unique way the advantages of the Mezzanine Racking Systems, the accessibility and ergonomics of Gangway solutions, and the stability of the Conventional Racking Systems.
The implemented construction has a total of 4 floors, with a height of 2.85 m and 2.45 m on the last level. This way, the useful storage area was multiplied by 4, even before the installation of the Gangway solutions on each level;
The system has main, wider corridors, as well as secondary, narrow aisles for manual picking and order assembly activities. On each Mezzanine floor, there are 6 additional Gangway levels for goods organization. There are numerous cardboard boxes on every picking level.
Each warehouse unit has a precisely defined position in the warehouse, through a specially designed organizational system, managed by the WMS - Warehouse Management System. All warehouse operators are equipped with special scanning and reading devices. Dynamic information regarding the status of each order to the warehouse is displayed on each floor of the Racking System;
Specially designed stairs provide access to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th levels Mezzanine structure. The main corridor is equipped with security doors and areas where trolleys can be lifted to pick and assemble products or to load the system from palletized storage units;
Achievement: The racking construction is an extremely stable fulfillment facility that meets all international fire prevention and safety requirements. The industrial lighting system illuminates only the working aisles where picking and assembly operations are carried out, and the main corridors are illuminated by natural light, thanks to specially designed roof transparent structures. The new racking construction Is equipped with a sound system, on all levels.
Today, REMIX's warehouse near Sofia is a flexible facility, able to handle all the demand and supply at peak moments.
