New Storage System for pallets in Croatia, for a global logistics company

STAMH d.o.o CROATIA SETS NEW STANDARDS IN STORAGE EQUIPMENT

Client: Maersk is one of the biggest global logistics companies, specializing in logistics services, supply chain development, and digital solutions;

Specifics: The company provides supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, 4PL logistics, cold-chain logistics, and e-commerce fulfillment services. Maersk is shipping standard, refrigerated or oversized cargo, with local expertise and a global network, wherever in the world that happens to be;

Project Location: In Croatia, Maersk operates from the ports in Rijeca, AGCT, Ploce and Split. The new Conventional Storage Systems, engineered and installed by the specialists from STAMH d.o.o. Croatia were installed in the Maersks´ facilities in Kukljanovo, Rijeka;

Implementation period: At the beginning of June 2023 STAMH d.o.o Croatia project management teams, in tight collaboration with the logistics managers of Maersk agreed, regarding the design and installation of two different Conventional Storage Systems for palletized loads;

Challenge: The logistics company needed to equip their logistics hub in Croatia, to provide better services to well-known international brands, like PUMA, for example. STAMH Group engineering teams, needed to create one Conventional Racking System for pallets, with a maximum height of 2500 mm in one area of the warehouse and another Conventional Storage System for pallets between 2000 and 2200 mm high, in another zone, of the same distribution center. That´s how, today, Maersk can satisfy the logistics needs of one of their clients using the first system, and the other client – from another zone, providing transparent and perfect workflow, staff, and administrative organization;

The solution: The 2 Conventional Racking Systems, accommodate and effectively organize 2552 pallets. One of the storage systems in the warehouse has 5 stacking levels and the other – 4 stacking levels, making maximum use of the vertical space. Taking into consideration the processes in the warehouse, one of the racking systems is upgraded with a special passage corridor in the middle, to ensure shorter working paths. Special mesh shelves were installed on the first level, above the special passage corridor, and also on the first picking level of one of the new Conventional Storage Systems;

Achievement: The new Conventional Racking Systems are perfectly engineered, with working aisles of 3.5 meters, ensuring fast and accurate access to each stored unit. Both racking structures are equipped with profile protectors, single-row protectors, and double-row protector barriers, to ensure longevity and accident-free operations.
